I really haven't been doing anything exciting, but there has been some excitement around here for a few days !
I have been watching my boy walk and walk a little more each day !
I have also seen one of my children get in trouble for the first time in her life at school ! My oldest daughter was suspended from school because she chose not to let some little snotty bitch continue to punch her in the face and claw the shit out of her arms !
Here's a little more on my daughter for those of you that weren't here back in June when I did this post .
So here's the scoop... my daughter was friends with this girl and this girl was one of those kind of girls that we have all known, that gets jealous if you hang around with anyone but her ! She was mad because Taylor had went and spent a weekend with some other girl and was snotty to her and said mean things. Taylor is not the kind of person to fight with anyone ( other then her siblings) she will always try to be nice and not make people mad.
She said I'm still friends with you too, I just wanted to go to .....'s house for the weekend . The girl started being snotty and hateful and so after a few days Taylor decided not to bother trying to be nice and just ignored her , she thought fine if you are going to be mean to me I just won't be around you. Meanwhile my daughter had been nice enough to let this girl use her locker , because the girl didn't have her own ( which is something else I told her she shouldn't do )
So after the breakup of their friendship my daughter gave the girl all her stuff out of her locker and told her you will have to get your own or find someone else to let you put your stuff in theirs.
Now my poor daughter is short even shorter then me ( I'm 5'4" and she's 5'1" and is tiny , that girl is taller then me and weighs 20 or so more pounds then her )! She can not see up on the top shelf and there is no way she could see to the back of said shelf.
This was all a few weeks ago, so yesterday the girl comes up to Taylor while she is standing near her locker talking to some other girl and her boyfriend. She says to Taylor all snotty why did you take so long to get me my gloves, Taylor says what? The girl said I told you this morning I wanted my gloves from your locker because I didn't get them before. Taylor says I never heard you ask me for them earlier this morning at all when did you, the girl said this morning in the hall. Taylor said well I didn't hear you I'll get them now, you don't have to be so snotty about it.
Taylor says this while turning to her locker, the girl said what did you say to me ? Taylor says as she turns to look at her you don't have to be so snotty about it I didn't hear you ask before BAM the girl punches her in the face and then does it a few more times. Taylor hits her back to make her stop as the girl is grabbing and clawing Taylor's bare arms, Taylor manages to get the girls hands off her arms and away so the other girl's boyfriend can grab them and hold the girl away from Taylor.
Just then some teacher happens along and takes them both to the office, the principle tells Taylor to go get the gloves which she still can't see and finally some tall person happens along and she asked them to look and they got them for her from the back of the top shelf. She goes back to the office and the principle looks at the 50cent pair of gloves and is even madder that the whole thing was over something so stupid.
So he takes each one in the office to talk to him and when he asked Taylor why she hit the girl back instead of just walking away to the office. Taylor said she was hitting me and clawing my arms , how was I supposed to go to the office with her doing that ? He yells at her and tells her she was just putting on a show and there was no reason for hitting the girl back at all ! Taylor said well was I supposed to let her keep hitting me all the way down here so you could stop her ?
He yells at her for being sassy and tells her there is no reason to ever hit anyone and she did it all for show she could have got away, by then Taylor is crying and even the teacher who happened to come along said Taylor isn't bad and never gets in to trouble and she wouldn't have been thinking let's fight this is fun .
So now the poor girl was kicked out of school for the afternoon ( this all happened at lunch) all day today and Monday. The other one got two more days for starting it .
So what do you think ? I have always told my kids it's wrong to fight I certainly didn't do that kind of thing in school. However I have also said if anyone is hurting you , protect yourself and try to get away from them. I wanted to take pictures to show you but she was crying and wouldn't let me . The poor girl has a bunch of red and purple looking marks all around her eye and cheek and her arms have bloody claw marks on them , not just little scratches either they are from one side to the other almost clear around both arms and there is about four on each one.
I feel so bad, but I'm glad she hit the girl back and was able to get her off of her before she was hurt even more.
I just don't get why young girls act the way they do, you see it all the time it was like that when I went to school and it will be like that when our grand kids go to school ! The worst part is there is always a group of girls that continue to act that way when they are adults and mothers even !
So do you think if someone attacks your child they should let them continue to beat on them until help comes along or do you think they should try to protect themselves ?

Hell NO! I tell my kids to stick up for themselves. Beat some a... There is no way my child should have to take a beating from some punk!
I'm sorry that your daughter got suspended but good for her for sticking up for herself. I dread the day my girls become teens I know one is a total drama queen now. I just can't wait for those hormones to rush through their bodies and make them total drama queens.
I definitely would never want my girls to start a fight, but if some snotty, stuck-up girl started wailing on them I would most definitely want them to defend themselves. Sucks Taylor was suspended, but good for her for fighting back and not just letting this girl rip her hair out.
My kids are told that they have the right to defend themselves and no matter what happens at school they will not be in trouble with us at home and our principals know this.
I'm so glad she defended herself! I'm sorry she's having to deal with it at all :(
This burns me up. My son is dealing with a similar situation. A boy beat him up in the hallway two weeks ago and then stabbed him with a pen on the bus. I have told him that I understand the school's rules about fighting, but you can't let someone just beat you up. If the school isn't going to defend then he has to be able to defend himself, just like your Taylor. Unfortunately, like your Taylor, the school not only won't protect our kids, they will punish them for protecting themselves. Grrrrr!
Wow, thats crazy. I hope my son would defend himself if someone pulled something like that on him.
I feel so bad for you daughter. That is a tough situation to be in. I think she did the right thing though - she can't let other people abuse her.
How terrible for your daughter. I think that she she the right thing in defending herself. I would definitely take issue with the school. My son is having a similar problem with a boy at school. Our Middle and High Schools share the same campus. My sixth grader has been targeted by a 9th grader. I have filed police reports to document the attacks. I have also politely spoken with the boy's Mother. I hope that the violence toward your daughter ends!
Poor Taylor! I too would have fought back. And yes you did the right thing by telling her to protect herself.
